The best stories are those with a message.
Here are some stories from my time on mission. They share the heart of my vision and show how Jesus can move!
The Last Dance: Prague, Czechia 7/23/25
I want you to join me on a journey of discovering how our personal encounters with God affect those around us.
A little backstory, mid June of 2025 I got to travel with two of my best friends to Budapest, Hungary to meet with a team of missionaries for a 40-day missions adventure around Europe with an organization called European Initiative. After a couple days of training and evangelizing near their headquarters, it was time for the thirty-eight of us missionaries to branch off into two groups.
I can remember sitting in their apartment hearing the teams and countries for the first time. I was in shocked and my face radiant, I was ready yo pursue the calling I had felt the Lord give me.
While on this mission trip, my teammates Nicole and Jenna introduced me to prophetic dance. I head never heard of something like this, but I was extremely intrigued and curious. They had the opportunity to dance and worship while we were on the streets of Lisbon, Portugal and you could feel the very fibers of the atmosphere shift. Their worship through dance captivated the crowds attention and drew in people that were hungry for salvation.
After this day of outreach, I was eager to learn and experience what they were doing, so I asked them. They shared that it was as if Jesus came down to dance with them and give them prophetic pictures and words as they danced. I was so hungry for this new experince with God that I decided to practice this in my secret place. Each morning I would pray “Jesus, come and dance with me,” and he did.
Fast forward, after about 18 days from that point, the two teams reunited in Prague, Czechia. To digress, I can still feel the tangible increase of faith and power that occurred when we were all gathered back together. There was joy and laughter, hugs and tears. I got to live out Acts 2:42-47, I experienced what truthful and intimate fellowship with believers was. We got to have corporate times of testimonials and devotionals together; God moved.
Stepping back on track, there was one day in Prague where the teams were feeling a little more spirit-led and we decided to do public worship and prayer. Jenna and Keara (a missionary from the other team) got up to do some prophetic dance. Jenna knew that this is something I had been practicing and so they told me to get up there and dance with them. I was nervous but even still, I danced. Keara led the first dance as Jenna and I followed, the next was led by Jenna, and then third set rolled around, and they said it was my turn.
Keep in mind that this is something I’ve only done before God. They encouraged me and I went for. My eyes were closed and I was just letting my body move how the spirit led me. It was the most free and presence-focused I had ever been! After about 5 minutes of dancing, Jenna, Keara, and I were all touched by the love of God. The atmosphere had shifted, and hearts were opened.
As soon as we came to the end, my eyes met this lady who was sobbing. I rushed over to her and asked her how the dance had made her feel, and she said it reminded her of a pst love where she felt fully know. Something about my encounter with God demonstrated love to her. Jenna and I got to dive further into this with her and we discovered that she was deeply wounded through past partners and we got to share with her the love that Jesus had for her.
I remember asking if she wanted to receive the fullness of Jesus and receive salvation, and she said no, but what followed was spectacular!
I asked if I could pray for her before we parted ways and the second I laid my hand on her shoulder I was met with the ugliest cry of my life. The Lord wrecked my heart for this woman and showed me his love for her in the midst of her pain. After my weepy prayer, she expressed how no one has ever loved her like this before, and I got to share how it was only God.
I share all this to say that when we open ourselves up to new facets of God and choose to experience them for ourselves, we become a conduit for Jesus to encounter others. Two lives were changed that day. So always pursue Jesus and step into the fullness that he has for you. Be willing to step out and dance!
