The Journey Continues: Two Marker-Stone Learnings!

Let’s dive into one of the most amazing stories I’ve been able to take part in, while taking the journey of pursuing business and ministry!

Just this past Thursday I got the opportunity to visit James Hamilton at a business excursion with Valley Creek College. James Hamilton is the CEO of ARR Healthcare. His business operates under two brands of healthcare staffing, and he oversees Alliance Recruiting Resources and Enterprise Medical Recruiting.

James shared some outstanding insights over practical ways to combine business and ministry, so join me on the path of discovery!

Business—

During this event James ran the audience through the structure and organizational piece of his company like how the different departments work together to meet their companies vision of serving communities.

James shared some very insightful business advice that I would like to share with you!

Here at Pioneering The Journey we are all about becoming lifelong learners and James shared how his business model is built on core values that each employee must uphold. He expressed how without these values business would crumble.

He specifically shared that when starting a business “don’t be a place of tolerance, and establish core values.” James enlightened us and shared a story of how one of his employees was using performance and success to mask his opposition to the values.

He mentioned how there was a challenge in this, “Do I sacrifice success for our values?” His answer was “yes,” and I believe this is a key for myself and other kingdom business leaders to engage in. When you create values to cultivate kingdom realities in your business, stick to them!

Ministry—

After he wrapped up the organizational and business talk, he posed an inspiring question to the audience, “we set business goals, but why not ministry goals?”

This got me excited and hopefully sparks your curiosity as well!

James shared how after he felt the Lord speak this to him, he got down into making ministry a priority in his companies. He shared how he hands out 12 paid volunteer hours for every employee at his business. This is such a kingdom and was inspiring to hear.

They key to the success of combining ministry and business that he shared that caught me was how it was all relationally focused.

His company has a board of directors for his CARE team! This is a team that meets weekly to pray for the business and its employees. They ask for prayer requests from employees and follow up with them every week.

The way that he has centered his business around serving and releasing the kingdom of heaven is inspiring and has given me dreams for what my future business and ministry will look like with Jude (click here for more)!

Conclusion—

So, in business it’s important to stick to your values and pursuing ministry takes relationships. How can you implement those into your life or into your own initiative?

Are you ready to create something, pursue people, and PIONEER THE JOURNEY?
